Our team work hard all year round to make sure Vision events are as safe as possible. We're constantly monitoring our response to Covid-19 and are following the latest government advice.
After careful consideration, we've decided not to re-open Woodlea Mission for youth events just yet.
We think going back to school will be a big enough adjustment for many young people and their parents. Most importantly, we don't think it's safe to try to form additional "bubbles" at our events for young people who attend different schools and are in different age groups.
We've considered bringing in lots of safety measures instead, like screens, face coverings and social distancing, but we think these would take all the fun out of our events which are all about connecting with each other... and for now, we can do that much better online.
As a charity, we're looking to expand the number of online activities we can run, especially in schools where we've already trialled livestreamed lessons. We'll be constantly reviewing safety at Woodlea, and will re-open as soon as we can do so safely.
We've been running interactive livestreams for weekly youth events like Connect and Inspire. Details of our next livestream can be found here.
In July, we began livestreaming interactive Emotional Wellbeing sessions into classrooms. Schools can book sessions by emailing email@example.com.
Staying in touch
Young people can message our youth team on 07454 50 80 30 if they need help, advice, or just want a chat.
Links and resources
We're sending links to the best content we can find - and creating resources of our own - to help young people find hope and encouragement in these challenging times.
If you're aged 11-18 (or a family member) and would like more information about anything on this page, please send a message to 07454 50 80 30 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can you help us?
Vision runs on the generosity of local people. Our building might be closed, but we are still working hard to keep in touch with as many young people as possible. Many of our running costs and bills still need to be paid, despite the closure. Please donate online if you can - we would be so grateful for your help.
Our youth centre (Woodlea Mission) closed to the public on 17 March. We don't yet have a date for re-opening. Some events and activities can't currently be live streamed and have been postponed, including Friday Night Worship, Kids Club, and No Limits.
We'll continue to review the situation, and will update our website again as soon as we know more.
